Southern California Native
 Plant Nurseries / Growers

The following information was sent to me by Connie Vadheim.  I want to thank her for the following information... All towns mentioned are in Southern California.

Hi Gordon,

I'm assuming that your target audience includes folks who live at lower elevations in western Los Angeles & Orange Counties.   There are additional hummingbird plants that are native to coastal southern California and are available as seed or plants.   I teach a native plant gardening class at Madrona Marsh (Torrance) and always include at least one class each year devoted to bird (including hummingbird) and pollinator habitat plants.   I also actively garden for hummingbirds in my own garden (Redondo) and on the CSUDH campus.

I've attached my 'Hummingbird List' as well as a list of local seed and plant sources (referenced by number on the plant list).   Hope this will be useful information for your viewers - these plants will do better than some of the other western natives in our local area.
